How much does a geothermal HVAC system cost in Pakistan?

How does geothermal cooling work in Pakistan's climate?

It moves your home's heat into the ground, which stays near 24°C all year in the Punjab plains — far cooler than 45°C summer air. A ground-source heat pump circulates water through sealed pipes in 45–60 m deep boreholes; because the machine rejects heat into cool earth instead of scorching air, it does the same job as your ACs on roughly half the electricity or less.

Does geothermal still work when it is 45–48°C outside?

Yes — outside air temperature barely matters to a geothermal system, which is exactly why it exists. Conventional ACs collapse in extreme heat because they must push heat into hotter and hotter air. How deep are the boreholes, and how much space does drilling need?

Typically 45–60 metres deep, and the rig needs about one car-parking space of access for 2–4 days. We drill vertical closed loops, insert HDPE U-pipes, grout them, and restore the surface — a lawn corner or driveway strip is enough. The buried loop has no moving parts and lasts 50+ years.

Can the system really run on solar with near-zero electricity bills?

Daytime, yes: the mechanical-room solar canopy typically carries the system's full daytime draw, and an optional battery covers the night. Because geothermal cuts the power the house needs for cooling roughly in half to begin with, the solar array needed to feed it is small enough to fit above the plant itself. Grid electricity becomes backup rather than the default.

What size system does a 1-kanal house need?

One ground-source plant plus 6–10 indoor units (or a central ducted air handler) serves a typical 1-kanal (~500 m²) villa. Exact tonnage depends on glazing, insulation, floors and occupancy — the /start configurator sizes it from your answers, and a site survey confirms it before anything is ordered.

How much cheaper is it to run than normal inverter ACs?

At design conditions the system operates at COP ~5–6, versus ~3 for premium inverter ACs — meaning each unit of electricity moves nearly twice the heat. In practice villa owners replace a wall of ACs drawing 15–25 kW at peak with a plant whose peak fits a ~3 kVA generator per typical zone-load, before solar contribution is counted.

Does it heat in winter too?

Yes — the same machine reverses and pulls warmth from the ground, which stays ~24°C when January air is near 5°C. One system replaces both your ACs and your gas or electric heaters, which matters as gas pressure and pricing worsen each winter.

Will it work during load-shedding?

Yes. Peak electrical draw is a fraction of the AC bank it replaces, so a ~3 kVA generator can carry it; the solar canopy covers daytime, and the optional battery bridges nights. Load-shedding resilience is one of the main reasons Pakistani homeowners choose geothermal.

How long does installation take?

What maintenance does it need?

A flat Rs 2,500/month lifetime plan covers all service, parts and care — there is nothing else to budget. The underground loop is sealed and passive; the mechanical plant is one machine in one room instead of ACs scattered across every wall, which is what makes lifetime coverage economical.

Is there import duty on geothermal heat pumps in Pakistan?

No — geothermal heat pumps enter at 0% customs duty under Serial 21 of the FBR Fifth Schedule (PCT code 8418.6100). Pakistan's tariff structure explicitly favours geothermal equipment, which is part of why a world-class system is now viable for homes here.

How long does the system last, and what about warranty?
